When it comes to judging the quality of fine arts and crafts there's no test like time.
Back in 1985, a group of 17
artists and craftspeople established the Hokitika Craft Gallery Co-operative. Personnel and products have changed over the years, but even the earliest works are still admired in homes all over the world for their style, beauty and quality - just as today's arts and crafts will be valued for years to come.
Besides producing all the
works sold in their spacious gallery in Tancred Street, Hokitika, members staff it themselves.
They'll not only provide information on how any item you select was made and who created it, but will also carefully pack it and send it anywhere you'd like it to go.
So be sure to take time out in their gallery during your visit to Hokitika.
