Jan Harnett

I began painting silk scarves 12 years ago whilst living in Fielding, Mary Fyfe from Greytown being my mentor.  During this time I attended workshops at Napier and Raglan and learnt various techniques.

I hem the raw silk into scarf lengths then using dyes paint each scarf individually, then process 24 hours later.  I enjoy creating original designer silk scarves, earrings, and scarf clips as it is always fascinating how the finished article will look.  My latest products are silk ponchos.
