Fiona Carruthers
Fiona has lived on the West Coast for the past 33 years with husband David and has reared 3 children here. She has been painting in Watercolour for the past 15 years.
She has been involved with the West Coast Society of Arts in Greymouth for many years and also the local Art group. Recently she and her husband shifted to Hokitika and she joined the Hokitika Craft Co-operative in April 2007. Fiona looks forward to being able to contribute to the camaraderie of local artists.
"I continue to find the landscape inspiring to paint. I enjoy painting ‘plein air’ but often have to revert to my studio to obtain the multiple watercolour washes I desire. I like to try to capture the way the sunlight hits the land."
